Calling all jumpers!
The Comet Skippers Jump Rope Team will hold tryouts for girls and boys in grades 2‐11 for the 2013/2014 Competition Team. A mandatory parent meeting will be held on April 22nd at 7:00 pm in the Mason Intermediate 56 Commons.
Training sessions begin April 23rd, 24th, and 25th from 6:30‐8:30pm at the MIS 56 Gym. Final try‐out will be held Saturday, April 27th from 9:00am‐12:00 pm at the MIS 56 Gym.
Try‐out fees are $30.00 and will include two ropes, skill sheets and instruction. Team selection will be posted on the gym door by approximately 1pm Saturday and by the evening on the www.cometskippers.org web site. Approximate cost will run around $325‐375 for the year (September‐ June) for uniforms, equipment, and team fee. This does not include registration to tournaments and workshops.
Practices for jump rope will be every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Other days may be added as needed to prepare for demonstrations/shows starting in the fall.
There will be either World Competition or National competition held during the summer of 2014. In addition, demonstrations will be performed throughout the year as well as occasional workshops and opportunities for mini competitions/tournaments for fun.
What to wear/bring:
• Good supportive tennis shoes ‐ please no zipper or shock‐type shoes
• Shorts/t‐shirt
• Girls must have their hair tied in a pony tail/or braided
• No jewelry or gum
• Water bottle and nutritious snack
• Great attitude
